This certified training includes a two-day in-person training in Sweden 7 - 8 May.

Interreg programmes present their decision-makers with many different choices for how they can be run. Top down or bottom up? Quality or quantity? Programme specific or harmonised? And all this before we get into the nitty-gritty of the processes and procedures used to implement programmes (1 phase vs 2 phase; decentralised vs centralised controllers, etc.). These add further choices for programme managers and decision-makers to navigate their way through.

This training, which combines strategic approaches with technical know-how, allows learners to reflect on these choices. Learners will be shown how to identify which options are best suited to their programmes, as well as the consequences of choosing one option over another.

Who is it for?

The training is designed for individuals who play a role in strategic decision-making in Interreg programmes. These include managers of programme bodies and Monitoring Committee members.

The course is suitable for all levels of experience but is particularly relevant for individuals new to programme management in an Interreg context.

We also welcome registrations from programme officers involved in designing proposals for programme management.

Overall learning objective

Completing the training will give learners the chance to expand their knowledge and experience in the following:

  • Setting strategic objectives for Interreg programmes.
  • Techniques and approaches for meeting those objectives.
  • Knowing which techniques are right for each programme.

Learners will get the chance to apply these techniques to a range of participatory scenarios during the in-person training.
